Thank you for your interest in the Young Adult Leadership Program at Lighthouse Guild. Please take a moment to complete the application below. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by the program committee promptly. If the committee believes you to be a strong candidate for the program, you will be contacted with instructions for participating in a screening interview. The screening interview can occur either in person at Lighthouse Guild, or remotely by video conferencing service.
Acceptance into the Young Adult Leadership Program is based on multiple factors, including recommendation by a student’s vocational counselor or guidance counselor, strength of application, a screening interview and overall program capacity. Application to the program does not guarantee acceptance.
To be eligible for the Young Adult Leadership Program, a student must:
- Be within the ages of 14 to 21
- Be attending high school, or home-based equivalent (the program is not intended for college students)
- Have an active case for services through the New York State Commission for the Blind
