A practical roadmap for families navigating the early stages after a diagnosis, highlighting key first steps and common questions to consider. This session will help parents understand which professionals should be involved and how to effectively coordinate care and support.

Speaker

Paul Geraci – Children’s Consultant, New York State Office of Children and Family Services / Commission for the Blind

Paul brings 40 years of experience working with individuals who are visually impaired and 32 years focused on supporting children and their families. In his role, he partners with families, educators, and service providers to ensure that children who are blind or have low vision receive the support and resources they need to succeed. With extensive knowledge of early intervention, educational planning, and family-centered services, Paul provides valuable guidance to families as they navigate programs and advocate for their children’s growth and independence.
