About the Session

Join us for an overview of how Bookshare is transforming access to reading for individuals with visual impairments and other print disabilities. We’ll highlight the platform’s extensive digital library, customizable reading formats, and the impact it has on education, independence, and lifelong learning. Attendees will gain insight into how Bookshare empowers users to read without barriers and supports a more inclusive reading experience for all.

Speakers

Lara Rondberg – Program Manager, Benetech/Bookshare

Lara supports efforts to expand Bookshare in K-12 and libraries that serve people with disabilities. She has a passion for leveraging technology to help people with disabilities increase knowledge, skills, and independence, and has worked on a variety of public health, disability, and educational programs for both the federal government and national nonprofit organizations.

Nancy Doyle – NY State Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Nancy has been working with blind and visually impaired children at the Lighthouse Guild for over 15 years. She currently provides vision services for the Lighthouse Guild at the Adapt Community Network Manhattan Preschool Program.
