If you are over 70 ½, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), sometimes referred to as IRA Rollover Gifts, directly to Lighthouse Guild, of up to $108,000 in 2025.  And, if you are over age 73, your gift will satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD)*.

Distributions from an IRA are normally subject to income tax, but by having your distribution directed to Lighthouse Guild, it will not be subject to income tax.

You can also use your QCD to fund a charitable gift annuity of up to $54,000 if you have not done so yet.

Qualified Charitable Distributions will also not be subject to the new limits on charitable giving that go into effect in 2026. **

To make a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA, instruct your IRA administrator to make a direct transfer to Lighthouse Guild, located at 250 West 64th Street, New York, 10023.

* It is recommended that you consult with your financial or tax advisor for your specific situation regarding your RMD.

** Beginning in 2026, taxpayers who itemize their deductions will be limited to deducting only those charitable donations above .5% of their adjusted gross income.
