Board of Directors
Andrew H. Marks
The Board of Directors, Officers, and Staff of Lighthouse Guild are profoundly saddened by the passing of our esteemed colleague, Andrew H. Marks.
A long-time supporter of our organization, Mr. Marks was a member of our Board of Directors for over 25 years and served as Treasurer in 2004. His counsel was highly valued and often sought, helping to advance Lighthouse Guild’s mission and enrich the lives of people who are blind or visually impaired.
Mr. Marks, a native New Yorker, was a Risk Management and Insurance Executive for over 50 years. After graduating from Yale in 1961, he started at Schiff Terhune, which merged with Reed Stenhouse, and then Alexander and Alexander (now AON) in 1985. He set up his own firm, MLW Services, in 1986, which was bought by Bollinger, a large regional insurance brokerage in 2006, which merged with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., the third largest firm in the industry in 2014, where he served as Area Senior Executive Vice President of Gallagher.
Mr. Marks was on the board of Breakthrough New York, which works with middle and high school students to prepare them for higher education. He also served on the board of the Town School in New York City, was an active member of The Harmonie Club and The Yale Club of New York.
We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, Terri, and his entire family.
