Morgan Stanley Hosts A Transformative Career Workshop

The Morgan Stanley Enable Employee Network provided a career workshop and exchange for twelve young people who are visually impaired from Lighthouse Guild’s Youth Services, Tech Pals and Scholarship programs. Hosted at Morgan Stanley’s New York headquarters, the event began with remarks by Shavonne Gordon, Managing Director and Global Head of Diversity for Company and Infrastructure at Morgan Stanley.
The focus of the event was inclusion. Ann-Marie Birns, Managing Director and Co-Chair of the Enable Network welcomed participants and led an inspiring and thoughtful panel discussion with several Morgan Stanley employees who are visually impaired. The panel members shared their personal and professional journeys, emphasizing resilience and the importance of self-advocacy.
Following the panel discussion, Max Tkach, Executive Director, and his team provided an overview of The Morgan Stanley Accessibility Center of Excellence and the Assistive Technology Program, which supports accessible technologies across the firm.
Lighthouse Guild’s young clients also took part in a networking activity designed to enhance their personal brand and were given a tour of the Morgan Stanley Trading Floor!
The participants left the event energized from the valuable insights shared by the Morgan Stanley employees who are visually impaired. As a result of this experience, they departed with increased resources and bolstered confidence for their careers.
