This presentation will explore the purpose, process,and benefits of a DVE, offering insights into how it identifies career opportunities and equips individuals with the tools to succeed in the workforce.
About the Speaker
Carly Feldstein, MA, has been a member of Lighthouse Guild’s team for about three years, serving in dual roles as the Outreach and SupportPrograms Coordinator and the Diagnostic Vocational Evaluator.
In her clinical role, Carly conducts comprehensive interviews with patients and administers a variety of psychological assessments. She Is skilled in conducting assessments and scoring procedures while maintaining patient reports and data records. Carly has successfully planned and executed diagnostic Vocational Evaluations (DVEs) for individuals referred by the New York State Commission for the Blind (NYSCB). These evaluations include personalized plans tailored to each individual’s vocational interests,cognitive abilities, aptitudes, verbal and spatial-cognitive skills, and emotional and executive functioning.
As part of her outreach efforts, Carly identifies and engages eligible individuals and referral sources in need of services, including low vision care, behavioral health support, and vocational rehabilitation. She ensures all referrals meet vision-related eligibility criteria and other qualifying standards. Carly also manages the Tele-Support Programs database and is a facilitator for one of the Adult Tele-Support Groups.
