Join us as our speakers share their expert advice, recommendations, and resources that will help parents get involved in keeping their visually impaired child physically active.

About the Speakers

Nancy Doyle is a NY State Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired who has been working with blind and visually impaired children at the Lighthouse Guild for over 15 years. She currently provides vision services for the Lighthouse Guild at the Adapt Community Network Manhattan Preschool Program.

Kiana Vion Glanton is a graduate of Stony Brook University. She is the Development and SpecialProjects Manager at Lighthouse Guild, a non-profit organization supporting the blind and low vision community through medical vocational and rehabilitation services.  At Lighthouse Guild, Kiana is the lead advocate and ambassador for Adaptive Athletics.  She is the current Secretary for the U.S. BlindBaseball Association and is the current Co-Captain of Blind Baseball’s 2024Team USA.  Kiana holds the distinction of being the only Black woman to earn a medal for the U.S.A. in any world championship for Blind Baseball(Bronze medal 2022 Beek, Netherlands).  She is an active member of theNational Federation of the Blind as well as being a co-founder of The ResQue Experience LLC.  

Jeremy Morak is the Marketing Manager at Lighthouse Guild.Jeremy, who has been blind since birth due to a rare genetic retinal disease called X-link Retinoschisis, plays a crucial role in promoting and creating content that focuses on vision health, wellness, and lifestyle. He works with low vision experts and members of the blind and low vision community to develop and promote this content. As a visually impaired content creator,Jeremy is passionate about amplifying the voices and triumphant stories of others who are blind or visually impaired. He is heavily involved in adaptive athletics and teaches others about the value and joy of participating in sports and staying active. Jeremy helped create an annual clinic for youth programs atLighthouse Guild to teach them about the adaptive sport of blind baseball.Currently, he serves as the co-captain of the newly formed LighthouseGuild Lightning, an NYC-based blind baseball team. In addition to BlindBaseball, Jeremy is currently training for the Brooklyn Half Marathon in April, and will be riding in the TD 5 Boro Bike tour for the third year in a row. Jeremy’s daily mission is to help more people with low vision be seen and heard and continue to provide educational and uplifting content related to vision health and lifestyle.
