About the Session

An in-person, hands-on workshop exploring the versatility and convenience of air fryers — with a focus on safe, confident use for blind and low vision cooks.

Join us in person for an interactive Tech In-Session workshop as we demonstrate how an air fryer works and provide a hands-on opportunity to experience a model adapted for blind and low vision users. We’re excited to be joined by our very own Vocational Rehabilitation Teacher, Monica Torres, who will guide us through everything you need to know about using an air fryer safely and confidently. The session will cover what an air fryer is, its benefits, popular foods you can make, key safety tips, what to look for when purchasing, and simple adaptations to make it accessible.

Topics Will Include

  • What an air fryer is and its benefits for everyday cooking
  • Popular foods you can make and practical use tips
  • Key safety considerations for blind and low vision users
  • What to look for when purchasing an air fryer
  • Simple adaptations to make it more accessible
  • Live demonstration and hands-on experience

Come curious, leave empowered — and discover what’s possible when everyday kitchen technology works for everyone.
