About the Speakers
Kiana Glanton is a member of the Fundraising and Development team and an ambassador for Adaptive Athletics at Lighthouse Guild. She is the current Secretary for the U.S. Blind Baseball Association and is the current Co-captain of the Lighthouse Guild Lightning blind baseball team. Kiana was a member of Team USA, which received a bronze medal in the 2022 WBSC International Blind Baseball Cup in the Netherlands. Most notably, Kiana is the proud mother of one exceptional child, her 8-year-old Kali J. Vion. Kiana credits Kali as the driving force for entering and winning the 2023 Miss Independent Challenge and the 2023 Miss Blind Diva Pageant, making history as the only contestant to win both titles since the organization’s inception. She is quoted as saying, “I wear this crown so that she can visualize what is possible when a D.I.V.A. Diligence, Integrity, Vivaciousness, and Authenticity, puts on her own crown.”
Jeremy Morak is a Marketing Manager at Lighthouse Guild and Co-Captain of the Lighthouse Guild Lightning. He helped start blind baseball clinics for Lighthouse Guild youth programs in 2022. Jeremy first started playing blind baseball in May 2023 when he joined members of the U.S. Blind Baseball Association in an immersive week-long clinic in Bologna, Italy. Jeremy has been a fan of baseball his entire life and looks forward to the opportunity to compete for Team USA in the 2024 WBSC International Blind Baseball Cup later this year.
Ed Plumacher is an Adaptive Technology Specialist at Lighthouse Guild and President of the U.S. Blind Baseball Association. Ed helped bring the sport of blind baseball to the United States in 2016. Ed was a member of Team USA, which received a bronze medal in the 2022 WBSC International Blind Baseball Cup in the Netherlands. In recent years Ed has worked hard to raise awareness of the sport in other cities across the country and is working on adding teams both locally and nationally
