Voting Accessibility: Know Your Rights! Workshop and Demo

Do you know that there are accessible voting machines and tools at every polling site? 

Your right to vote is a fundamental cornerstone of our democracy, and we believe accessibility should be a priority for every voter.

At this informative event, the ADA Coordinator from the New York City Board of Elections will guide you through the accessibility features available to make your voting experience more inclusive and efficient. 

Join us to learn about: 

• Accessible Voting Machines: Get a firsthand look at these helpful devices and learn how they can empower you to cast your vote independently and confidently. 
• Step-by-Step Voting Guide: Discover the straightforward steps to cast your vote and understand your rights as a registered voter, ensuring your voice is heard. 
• Accessible Absentee Ballot Process: Learn how to participate in absentee voting, which is especially important for those who may face difficulties visiting a polling site. 

Guests will have an opportunity to ask questions about the upcoming election, and have a chance to practice using a ballot marking device (BMD).

On-site Voter Services:

In addition to the presentation and hands-on demonstration, a Board of Elections staff member will be on site to:

• Check voter status and polling site information
• Help register people to vote in the November election (for first time voters)
• Request an accessible ballot to vote remotely
• Provide tips for voting
