Fundraising 101 #NoLimits

Welcome to Team #NoLimits.  We are thrilled that you’ll be helping Lighthouse Guild and Foreseeable Future Foundation as we raise funds to support the blind and low-vision community.  Here are tips and tricks to spread the word about our cause and to help you reach your fundraising goal.

  1. Set your personal goal.
This year’s fundraising commitment is $1,500 per bike.  Advertise your personal goal to encourage both you and your community to stretch to its greatest fundraising potential.  And there is no limit to your ambition if you want to set an even higher goal!”.
  2. Create Your Training & Fundraising Plan
You have about 18 weeks before the 40-mile bike tour.
  • Select a physician approved bi-weekly exercise regimen that focuses on endurance, strength, and cardio.
  • For riders riding on a tandem bike, be sure to practice several times with your tour day cycling partner.  You’ll both want to have discussed your plan of attack for the tour.
  • Select 2 days per week that you’ll share your fundraising efforts i.e. Tuesdays at 7:00pm and Fridays at 3:00pm.  This will help your effort remain consistent and relevant.

3. Create a List
Write out the names of people you can ask to donate to your effort.  Include friends, family, colleagues, members of social groups. Community leaders and organizations in your network.  Focus on 2-3 potential donors per week and you’ll set a great pace for your fundraising season.

4. Take a reflective moment to write out why you joined Team #NoLimits.  Why is supporting the blind and low vision community important to you? Your passion is what will inspire others to action!

Greetings!

I am two months away from the 2024 TD Five Boro Bike Tour finish line!  For the past three months, Lighthouse Guild and the Foreseeable Future Foundation have been teaming up to create a super charity cycling team of over 40 riders who will cycle through all 5 NYC boroughs.  Our goal is to raise funds and awareness around programming and support for the blind and low-vision community.

#TeamNoLimits is being led by blind cyclist and para-Olympian Griffin Pinkow as we highlight a world of people who are not disabled but are “uniquely abled”.

Please join this worthy cause by donating to our fundraiser.  Donations can be made via our safe and easy crowd funding website XXXXXXXXX.

On behalf of the 2.4 percent of individuals effected by blindness, #TeamNoLimits thanks you in advance.
