Richard Baluran, PhD
Dr. Richard Baluran has 25 years of extensive experience in a variety of Rehabilitation settings including Hospitals, SNFs, Out-patient clinics, Acute/Sub-acute Rehab, Public School/Board of Education, Home Care. He has treated conditions such as chronic or acute pain, soft tissue injuries, arthritis, sports-related injuries, pre/post-surgery, balance problems, gait disorders, amputation and physical impairments typically of musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, vision impairment, TBI, and endocrinological origins. Dr. Baluran uses physical intervention like kinesiotape, suction cups, modalities like ultrasound, TENS, hot/cold therapy, Rehab techniques for strength, flexibility and balance improvement, exercise prescriptions, patient/health education to improve patient’s overall physical function. He has been with Lighthouse Guild since 2005 working in the Health Center as well as in the GuildCare Adult Day Health Care Program as PT Supervisor. Dr. Baluran completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy (PT) from Liceo de Cagayan University, Philippines and earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) at Stony Brook University, New York.
