Biosensor Technology: The Future of Diagnostic Medicine Is The Latest Episode of “On Tech and Vision” with Dr. Cal Roberts

May 22, 2024

NEW YORK (May 3, 2024) — Biosensors, which sense the various pressure levels in our bodies such as blood pressure, are revolutionizing diagnostic and preventive medicine and making science fiction a reality. Biosensor technology can serve many functions and take many forms — wearable, implantable, and even ingestible.

The latest episode of “On Tech and Vision” features three guests who offer their thoughts on the future of biosensors and the endless possibilities. One of them is Doug Adams a pioneering entrepreneur who created a biosensor that can assist in the treatment of glaucoma patients. He has also founded a company called QURA, whose current efforts are focused on a biosensor that detects blood pressure.

To elaborate on QURA’s initiatives, the episode includes insights from its Chief Business Officer, David Hendren. He and podcast host, Dr. Cal Roberts, discuss the current state of biosensor technology, the benefits of implantable biosensors, and how they work.

Finally, the co-founder and General Manager of Implandata Ophthalmic Products, Max Ostermeier, talks about his company’s Eyemate system, which includes biosensor technology for patients with glaucoma that gathers data on their intraocular pressure.

Now in its fourth season, “On Tech & Vision,” has over 15,500 downloads since it launched in 2020 and is a recipient of a 2023 Anthem Award. The podcast is available online at Lighthouseguild.org and for downloading on Apple Music, Spotify, Google Podcasts iHeartRadio Podcasts and Tunein.com.
